A MAN who got stuck after driving a mobility scooter onto Walney beach had to be rescued by firefighters.
Three engines from Barrow and Ulverston and a police vehicle were dispatched to West Shore beach following the incident.
The rescue happened at 11am on Saturday morning and took approximately half an hour.
Fire chief Mark Ducie urged the public to use common sense when using the beach and to always be aware of tide times.
The teams assisted the man off the beach onto dry land.
