A BRANCH of the women's institute took a trip to North Yorkshire to visit a museum dedicated to a writer.
BARROW WI enjoyed a 'wonderful' trip to Thirsk to see The World of James Herriot, a 20th Century veterinarian and novelist.
Secretary Margaret Gibson said: "The weather was so kind to us and, after a stop at Settle, we continued to Thirsk enjoying the wonderful scenery on the way. We then travelled to Mainsgill where we had a lovely meal before heading for home. A perfect day enjoyed by all.
The WI meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at Trinity Church Centre and new members are welcome.
