A PUB was marked out for “great beer and great food” as it received a special award.

Manor House at Oxen Park, near Ulverston, was honoured with the Furness Campaign for Real Ale Pub of the Season for spring 2019.

The award has been given out to pubs in Furness every quarter for more than 20 years.

Furness Camra branch chairman Dave Stubbins said Manor House had all the makings of a good pub.

Mr Stubbins said: “It’s a very friendly pub and the owner has done well to bring people in in such a small village.

“It’s got excellent food and great beer. When it comes to a pub it ticks all the boxes.”

Manor House is owned by Leighann McCready, whose family took over in 2017.
