DOG owners are being urged to keep their pets on a lead in the Lakes.
Cumbria Police have joined forces with the National Trust at Wasdale Head to help dog owners understand the dangers of not keeping their dog on a lead around livestock.
National Trust Wasdale Ranger Andrew Porter said: “A dog doesn’t need to physically get very close; the trauma of being startled can cause serious problems and sheep fleeing from dogs can be seriously injured by their panicked attempts to escape."
