A LAKE District holiday cottage agency has opened-up an acre of private land in Coniston after being “overwhelmed by demand” for a livestock-free area for guests’ dogs to enjoy.
The new holiday perk means dogs are able to enjoy their holiday in a private, open space, which had previously been used for grazing sheep and keeping horses.
In addition, Coppermines Lakes Cottages also has a conservation area on the nearby fells (pictured below), which – being another livestock-free environment, means dogs can also run free there without any concerns about worrying sheep.
Rebecca Forsman from Coppermines Lakes Cottages said, “We’ve been praised for the provision of this enclosed area which guests know is free of livestock, making it something of a rarity here in the Lakes outside of our cottage gardens.
"Dogs are part of the family."
