PUPILS from a Furness school are celebrating after seeing their work in an anthology.
Seventeen members of Class 4 at Our Lady of the Rosary School in Dalton have seen had their spooky tale published in a new book.
They gathered to receive copies of the book, called Spooky Sagas, which features their 100-word story.
The children were said to have been “very excited” to get their hands on the book and read their story.
Spooky Sagas is a writing competition for young people that gives them the chance to see their work published.
It is run by Young Writers, which aims to encourage and inspire children to engage in creative writing.
The company runs national competitions and provides resources for teachers and young writers.
Writing on social media, the school said: “Seventeen members of Class 4 are now published authors.
“They have been very excited to receive their copies of ‘Spooky Sagas’ where they can read their own 100 word story.”
The school has also tested success in other areas.
Class 4 pupils were again celebrating achievements in swimming.
They gained their Personal Survival 2 Awards over 400, 600 and 800 metres.
