The drizzly weather conditions failed to stop more than 400 parkrunners from tackling the five kilometre course this week.

Hats off to the 99 Barrow parkrunners who ran, jogged and walked the course on Saturday, despite the persistent rainfall.

Five of those runners picked up new personal best, with special celebrations given out to Tony Hough who completed his 50th parkrun.

Winner of the men’s race was Andrew Dorrian, who completed the course in 17.16, closely followed by Cameron Bell, who finished in 19.25 and William McAllister in 19.33.

The women’s race was extremely close, with Jackie Casey finishing first in 23.33 and Sarah Bouffler just behind her in 23.41 and Janice Callister finishing third in 24.19.

An overcast day greeted the 29 eager park runners who arrived for the 129th Millom park run.

Relative newcomers to parkrun, Debbie Harkness and Anne Webber, ran strongly throughout the five kilometre distance with Anne Webber recording a new personal best time.

Also achieving personal bests were John Cooper, Debbie Harkness and Henry Herdman.

In the men’s race, John Rodgers won in 21.46, while Lee Thompsett came second in 22.46 and Dave Bridges came third in 23.23.

In the women’s race, Hannah Pinney came first in 25.20, followed by Leanne Jackson in 27.00 and Holly Singleton in 30.29.

Ulverston’s 44th parkrun saw 84 runners, joggers and walkers take the trip to Ford Park this week.

Luke Turner crossed the finish line first in 21.22, followed by Jonathan Bailey in 21.57 and Graham Carrick, who finished third in 22.16.

In the women’s heat, Catriona Buchanan came first in just 20.25, followed by Louise Gentry in 24.01, and Shona Buchanan in 24.26.

Almost 200 participants took part in Newby Bridge’s weekly parkrun.

David Goadby came first in an impressive 18.17 in the men’s race, while Dan Clark came a close second in 18.28, followed by Stephan Burton in 19.11.

Georgia Baynes was the first woman to cross the line in 20.56, with Sharon Dixon coming second in 21.22 and Rebecca Whalley coming third in 22.16.

All four parkruns thank their committed team of volunteers who dedicate their team each week.
