Millom School pupil Roisin Ruddy is the new Millom Striders Running Club Trainer of the Week.

She was part of team of children which achieved the Agility Triathlon Challenge.

The challenge consisted of balance beam, speed bounce and long jump.

The next step is to keep consolidating the skills and drills required to move onto the pentathlon.

The pentathlon will introduce more of the athletic disciplines, but the strider group says the utmost important thing is having fun.

A spokesperson from the group said: "We at Millom Striders are very proud of these athletes.

"There is a lot of talent.

Seriously, well done to the kids - keep it up.

"Roisin Ruddy is a member of our Junior Striders.

"They meet Thursdays at Millom School at 6pm and anybody above the age of eight can attend.

"Children will learn skills for field and track, while the junior sessions are coached by Lorraine Keen."

Next up for Millom Striders Running Club will see the group hold an event in July in order to raise money in part for Millom charity SHINE for Autism.

The event will cost £15 for adults, £10 for children, while a family ticket cost £40.

Closing date for entries in Friday 8th July.
