A MAN accused of stealing a caravan from Barrow is to stand trial later this year.

Hugh Fury, 24, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court on Friday.

Fury pleaded not guilty to one charge which alleges he stole a caravan which is said to have been taken from an area behind South Row, Barrow.

He also denied a second charge which alleges the dangerous driving of a Mitsubishi Challenger. This is alleged to have occurred on the A590 and A6070 in the Kendal area.

Both charges arise out of incidents which are said to have occurred on March 1 2017.

A timetable for the progress of the case was outlined by prosecutor Neil Ronan.

Fury is now due to go on trial before a jury. This is set to start on September 30 and, it is estimated, will last two to three days.

Fury, of Main Street, Lancaster, was remanded in custody by Judge Andrew Jefferies QC.
