A LENGTHSMAN has taken it upon himself to clean up a number of gateway signs in Barrow.
Archie Workman, who clears drains for six parish councils in South Cumbria, had noticed the signs on the A590 and Abbey Road were in need of a clean and so decided to give them a new lease of life.
He said: "Every time I drive into Barrow I wonder why nobody cleans the road signs on the A590 so I cleaned this one.
"Next, I cleaned this gateway sign to which was also covered in green slime - you can now read BAE Systems are 'shipbuilders to the world'."
