BARROW Market kicked off the first of a fortnight of celebrations.
The national initiative called Love Your Local Market set up by The National Association of British Markets (NABMA) will be running for two weeks in Barrow. Each market day they will be a fun activity from school choir performances, a magic and puppet show to a charity knit ran by Pauline McCabe from Goodness Gracious Gifts. Barrow's Mayor Bill McEwan turned up for the opening day with the choir from Dane Ghyll Community Primary School. There is also a selfie wall in the market for the community to take photos and share over social media using #LYLM2019.
