THE Age UK De Lucy Centre, Market Place, in Egremont, is hosting an event to raise awareness for Dementia Action Week, which starts on Monday.

The centre's two-hour event, starting at 6.30pm, will see visitors take part in a clothes-swapping evening to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society and Age UK West Cumbria.

Jan Fotheringham, community connections worker, said: "Attendees can find new garments, jewellery, and accessories - and can bring unwanted items for others to take.

"It’s an opportunity to recycle, declutter and take away something ‘new’ without spending a fortune.

"Everything taken away means one less item is bought new so we are helping to save the planet too."

If interested in bringing items to swap, they must be in 'good condition'.

Entry is £3 on the door.
