TWO Jackapoos who are both much loved members of their family and always there when they are needed, also have the ability to be complete pains when they want to be.

Vespa, aged four, and Harley, seven, live in Barrow with owner Emma Dent who says they are no help at all when she is trying to get things done around the house, but they are the best dogs ever and absolutely fanastic company.

They bounce right off each other and although they have the same parents are completely different sizes - little and large.

Harley in particular never leaves any member of his family’s side if they are ill. He will stick with them and only when Emma comes home will he take that as his queue to end his duty and become a playful dog again.

Emma added that he has always been that way since he was a pup and seems to just know instinctively when someone is not well and will be there by their side.

Arthur is a working cocker spaniel breed now aged five months.

He lives in Barrow with owner Rebekiah Harper and is the second dog of his kind to join her family.

He is golden brown in colour and very playful. On top of that Arthur is a well loved pet.

Lad is a seven-year-old border collie and the much loved dog of Kate Scanlan in Barrow.

She has had him since he was just a young adult dog after being put up for rescue as a failed sheep dog.

Kate’s family orginally adopted his brother who very sadly died and then his breeder got in touch to see if they would like to take on Lad.

He is his own person, because despite being a border collie, he loves both sheep and cats - and will only try to herd people not other animals.

Kate says he is very mellow which is unusual for his breed as well as being really lovely, always happy and extremely well behaved.
