AN air ambulance, police and several fire engines were called to an incident on Walney yesterday afternoon.
The emergency services were called to a report of a road traffic collision between a Ford C-Max car and a motorcycle at around 1.30pm.
A fire engine and fire car were next to be called to the scene.
Barrow station manager Paul Milburn said: "We were alerted to come to the scene at 1.45pm.
"The incident involved a collision between two men, a 56-year-old motorcyclist and an 83-year-old Ford C-Max driver.
After the paramedics tended to the motorcyclist, the 56-year-old was then air lifted to Royal Preston Hospital.
As a result, North Scale road was temporarily closed.
