PROMISING musicians have released an album of cover songs to raise money for charity ahead of a competition.
A lottery-funded project called You Bring the Band has been running over the last 12 weeks at Furness Academy and St Bernard's Catholic School in Barrow.
It has seen children and adults hone their musical talents with tuition on performance and songwriting skills.
Students involved in each group have learned one cover song and written and composed their own original song as well.
These songs have been recorded and are available for digital download now, raising money for St Mary’s Hospice.
Today, a battle of the bands will be held at Furness Academy, with all ticket sales donated to the hospice.
Four band will perform their songs in front of professional judges, with one to be crowned the ultimate winner.
