Furness Motocross riders had mixed fortunes last weekend.

Askam schoolboy Jamie Keith, fresh from his second place on the Dean Moor track near Workington where near neighbour Finley Pickering finished third, had another fine win on the Fat Cats track near Doncaster with the 90 Racing Motocross club.

He now leads their championship too on his MBR prepared 65cc KTM.

Further south, Kirkby-in-Furness veteran Paul Coward contested the Acerbis Nationals Championships at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire, taking a hard-earned mid-field place on his 450cc Kawasaki.

Barrow’s Dee Jay Walker contested the same meeting, but fell heavily and had a very lucky escape when his 250 Yamaha hit him in hard in the back.

Although uncomfortable, prompt attention by the medics assured him nothing was broken and he’s confident of making the line-up for this weekend’s Bridgestone Masters event near Oxford.
