A MAN in his 50s is being hunted by police following reports of an assault.

Officers said a man entered a house in Walney's Shearwater Crescent and assaulted an elderly man from behind.

It was said to have happened between 5pm and 6pm on April 20.

The suspect has been described as white, approximately 50 years old, 6ft tall, of stocky build and was wearing a blue top.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed anything unusual around the time of the incident has been urged to contact PC 253 Jones by calling police on 101.
