A driver has died following a crash on the M6 in north Cumbria - taking the Easter weekend death toll on the county's roads to three.
The collision happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 41 for Wigton and junction 42, Carlisle south.
Firefighters from the Carlisle east and Penrith staions were called out at 11.30pm last night.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details have yet been released.
It was the third fatal collision in Cumbria over the bank holiday weekend.
Keith Moore, 42, of west Cumbria, died following a crash on the A66 near Keswick on Good Friday.
Meanwhile, Andrea King, 55, of Low Westwood, County Durham, passed away after a collision which involved her car and and HGV along the A689 on the outskirts of Carlisle that same evening.
Investigations into each of the collisions are ongoing.
