A 20-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder.
Martin Bozhkov, 20, of Warwick Road, Carlisle has been charged following an isolated incident that involved two men.
Bozhkov has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates Court on Monday (April 22).
Police were called to the incident at 3:17am, on Friday (April 19), on Dalston Road, Carlisle following reports of an assault.
A 43-year-old man, who is not from Cumbria, was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary with serious injuries from a bladed article. He has since been released from hospital.
