There has been a significant decline in anti-social behaviour within the past year, new police figures have revealed.
According to crime figures presented to Ulverston Town Council, incidents of anti-social behaviour in the town reduced from 201 to 172 in the past twelve months.
Councillor Mark Wilson praised the drop in crime.
He said: “I applaud the figures.
“It’s really encouraging to see the positive changes.”
There has also been a rise in visible foot patrols on Ulverston’s streets in an attempt to train younger police officers in rural areas.
Police also pledged to crackdown on underage sales in town off licences.
Officers used a 15-year-old to attempt to buy alcohol underage from 10 different establishments, with only one failing to ask for identification.
The off-licence was consequently fined £90.
