A VILLAGE hall is set to reopen later this month.
Kirksanton Village Hall, near Millom, has undergone a refurbishment which started last year after receiving £60,000 from The Lottery Fund as part of the UK’s largest funder of community activity.
The funds were used to extend the building’s main hall and create a social hub to increase public integration. It is set to reopen on April 22 with the venue already planning events to its June calender.
A spokesman from the venue said: “With the funds we were able to build a new kitchen and social hub, make the hall larger in length, buy a new wooden floor, and improve our services with a new disabled toilet.
“We’re currently in the process of creating a new website.
“We also received £1,000 from Tesco’s Bags of Help community grant scheme in January.”
The venue is hosting Belshazzar’s Feast on June 2.
