BIG Lou is MC and centre stage at the next side-splitting session at Barrow Comedy Club.

Lewis ‘Big Lou’ Jones has become a favourite on both the comedy circuit and after dinner circuit since he burst on to the scene back in 2010. Another product of the legendary comedy writer Ashley Boroda’s comedy course, the Manchester born comic announced himself on to the comedy scene by winning the Lass O’gowrie New Comedian Of The Year competition.

And UK comedy website Chortle is well impressed: "Big Lou, a robust gag-merchant, the material is original as well as punchy, while Lou is blessed with funny bones that kept the laughs coming."

Staged on Thursday, April 18, the hilarious line up includes Rob Mitchell, who opens The Duke of Edinburgh comedy night.

Rob performed his first set as part of the New Comedians night at Liverpool Comedy Festival in autumn 2014. The following week he won his first Gong show with Funhouse comedy and hasn’t looked back since. In 2015 Rob came second in Liverpool’s Hot Water comedy New Act of the Year final as well as competing in Funhouse Comedy’s Champions Gong Final.

Acclaimed laughter makers Sam Serrano and Howard Anstock are also in the spotlight for the Laughing Penguin Events show.

Sam is giving audiences plenty to laugh about with his one-liners, anecdotes, self deprecating humour and parody songs. Howard - another popular figure on the stand up circuit - won the Cheshire Cat Comedian of the Year 2017.

And so to the headline act - Danny Deegan.

Comedian, writer and actor, Danny is a skilled storyteller and has become a regular at most of the major comedy clubs in the UK since he began performing in 2003.

He's made numerous television and radio appearances since he started performing and possesses a confidence and swagger that you might expect from a comedian at the very top of his game.

Metro describes Danny as "charming, witty and most importantly funny," while BSH Magazine says that his act is "blisteringly funny comedy that left us all breathless and aching."
