BEST selling crime writer Martin Edwards is among the literary line up that will give chapter and verse on their acclaimed crime busting page turners across some of the region’s libraries next week. Martin appears at Ulverston Library on Thursday, at 7pm with fellow wordsmiths Jean Briggs and Marsali Taylor. He will also make an appearance at Kendal Library at 3pm the same day. On Friday, he calls at Ambleside Library at 2.30pm with another popular novelist Kate Jackson.

Martin is author of the acclaimed legal mysteries featuring Harry Devlin and the hugely popular Lake District Mystery series. As well as writing, Martin is an editor, a reviewer and well versed on crime fiction. He has won numerous major awards in his career, including the prestigious Dagger in the Library in 2018. He is also chairman of the Crime Writers’ Association, which is holding its annual conference at Bowness, from April 12-14. However, on the Sunday (April 14) it opens its doors to non-members with Cupcakes and Crime, from 2pm-4pm at the Macdonald Old England Hotel.
