A DONATION of £800 was handed to Cancer Care by the Inner Wheel Club of Barrow.
President Kath Brown presented a cheque to Rachel Minshull, Barrow and Furness development officer from the charity.
This donation was comprised of £400 from a coffee morning and £400 from sponsor money raised at the Tour de Furness.
Speaker for the evening was Kate Davies, whose talk ‘From Cartmel to Columbia in my Deux Cheveaux’ was well received.
Kate decided to ship her Citroen 2CV to Buenos Aires and drive all the way up the west coast of South America. President Kath also presented Kate with a cheque for £50 for her chosen charity.
