Brexit protests could delay cars on the M6
Delays on the M6 are possible this evening due to protests related to Brexit, according to police.
A police statement said: "It is believed the protests, which will consist of vehicles driving slowly, could begin from 6pm tonight and affect sections of the motorway around junctions 33 (South Lancaster), 34 (North Lancaster) and 35 (Carnforth).
"It is expected there will be delays and congestion in the area as a result so please allow extra time for your journeys.
"The police will support Highways England who are responsible for keeping our road network moving.
"While we facilitate the right to peaceful and lawful protest, we will also deal with any unlawful obstruction or other motoring offences as they become apparent."
