1 A charity fun run and exciting new music festival is coming to Barrow this Sunday.

Hosted by mental health charity Mind in Furness, the Move 4 Music charity event is a 2k, 5k or 10k official run followed by a mini festival at the finishing line.

The festival will feature the talent of musicians like: Robbie Jay Coplen, Hayden J Barlow, Danielle Messenger and Adam Golightly.

Registration is from 9.40am at Barrow Park.

2 Abbey Musical Society is continuing its showing of Jesus Christ Superstar this weekend.

The hugely successful musical group returns with with an Andrew Lloyd Webber classic: the sensational rock opera which charts the last few days of Christ.

The show starts at 7.30pm, until Saturday, and tickets are from £13 available online.

3 Barrow Vegan Fair is returning to St Matthews Community Halls to raise funds for Farplace Animal Rescue.

The fair will have a host of homemade and cruelty-free products on sale including some amazing soaps, bath bombs and shampoos.

The event is running from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

4 Pupils from Ulverston Victoria High School are performing their rendition of the hit Broadway musical: Hairspray.

More than 60 students will take to the stage in the all-singing all-dancing production at The Coronation Hall on Friday and Saturday.

5 The Forum in Barrow is hosting a free Northern Ballet Workshop this Saturday.

The workshop is for three-five year olds between 9.30am and 10.10am and six-nine year olds between 10.15am and 11.15 am.

6 Legendary rock cover group, The Influence, are performing at the Odd Frog and Live Lounge in Barrow this weekend.

The rock group are performing at the bar for the first time as part of their reunion tour.

7 A Quaker group in Ulverston is hosting a silent vigil for victims of the Christchurch shootings this weekend.

The event will hold the vigil between 11am-noon on Saturday at Market Cross near to Tesco and the Farmer’s Arms at the top of Market street.

8 South Cumbria Music Festival is launching at the Coronation Hall in Ulverston this Sunday.

The festival allows local musical talent to compete on stage in a beautifully refurbished venue.
