A PHOTOGRAPH has been shared on Twitter of a Barrow man's Tommy Robinson tattoo.

A user, who claims to be the tattooed man's friend, uploaded the picture. He claims the tattooed man is originally from elsewhere in the UK but now lives in Barrow.

The tattoo depicts the English Defence League founder, whose real name is Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon, wearing a crown of thorns.

Writing underneath the large image of his face appears to include the word 'prophet'.

The picture, which is from the tattooed man's Facebook, is captioned by him with: "New ink. Haters gunner (sic) hate.

"Uneducated people might debate. #FreeTommy"
