THERE was plenty of cause for celebration in 1994 when a set of Askam triplets popped the Champagne corks to mark their 21st birthday.
The Mail, on Wednesday, March 2, noted: "Jason, Darren and Craig Wharton — born in that order — of Duke Street are marking the occasion with a family meal at Michaelson House, Barrow.
"The trio of strapping ex-Dowdales six footers all work for their dad's company Fixweld in Barrow.
"Jason and Craig, who are identical, confused teachers and workmates for years.
"The lads were born in South Africa, enjoy darts and football and love being triplets."
Mum Ann said that when they were babies in hospital they wouldn't eat unless they were together.
