THERE was a musical shoot-out in the school hall 25 years ago as a cast of pupils brought Calamity Jane to the stage in Millom School's Alexandra Hall.
The Mail, on March 1 in 1994, looked ahead to the show which started on March 9 for three nights.
It noted: "The cast is headed by star Lucy Dixon, ably assisted by the chorus.
"Many songs are classics, including The Black Hills of Dakota and The Deadwood Stage.
"The American Wild West extravaganza will be courtesy of Millom School pupils who have set their sights on a production to remember.
"Pupils from all years are involved in the show and some staff have been lassoed in to take part."
Wild Bill was to be played by Peter Rushton.
Calamity Kate's pal Katie Brown was to be played by Emma Carson.
