A MAN who died after suffering a cardiac arrest on a train has been remembered by his family as a 'popular character'.

The family of David Clark, who was 56 and from Grange, paid tribute to their "sadly missed" husband and father following an incident on a Barrow-bound train on Sunday.

"David was a very popular character in the local community," they said.

"One thing that we have been shown through this tragedy is that David will be so sadly missed by his many friends.”

The family thanked their family and friends in the local community for their continued support.

The incident happened at Silverdale on board the 8.45pm Northern service travelling between Preston and Barrow.

A 22-year-old woman from Flookburgh and a 32-year-old man from Grange were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

They have been released on police bail as further enquiries continue.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances which led to Mr Clark's death and would appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened to contact BTP as soon as possible, by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 678 of 02/03/19.
