A NEW classic bistro and bar is set to open in Grange next week.

The Estuary is the new venture from South Lakes couple Faye and Harry Ramsey who also own the one AA rosette ‘Porto Restaurant’ in Bowness-on-Windermere.

It will occupy a prime spot in the old pharmacy building in the town’s Main Street, and will be open daily for creative brunches, lunches, dinners (at weekends), and drinks.

Menus have been inspired by the area’s fresh, local and seasonal produce and offer a mix of healthy options and small sharing plates alongside British a’la carte classics.

Customers can expect to see specialities like langoustine arancini, pulled pork with chunky apple sauce, and Estuary hand stretched stone-baked flatbreads.

A custom-designed statement bar with antique glass shelving and stylish lighting complements the art deco inspired design, and the coastal colour scheme mirrors those seen across Morecambe Bay, says co-owner Faye Ramsey.

As well as an impressive wine list, The Estuary will host a cool selection of gins and matching botanicals and speciality house prosecco cocktails.

After a long two years in the making, co-owner Faye said she cannot wait to open the doors.

She said: “We’re excited to be bringing something new and unique to Grange as well as creating jobs for the area and breathing new life into a building that’s been empty for some time.

“We are so lucky to have such excellent quality produce on our doorstep, so many of our daily specials will be inspired by Morecambe Bay using the finest seasonal ingredients.”

Faye, a local girl who grew up in the Lake District and went to school in Windermere, wants The Estuary to be a place where everyone feels welcome and excellent service goes hand in hand with quality food and drink.

The Estuary is due to open sometime next week on a date to be confirmed.
