A DOG walker was disgusted after a note calling her 'slag' was placed on her car telling her she was an 'irresponsible' pet owner.

The woman posted the note, which accused her of being 'a negligent dog lover', on Facebook group 'Barrow-in-Furness Lost and Found pets'.

The letter was left on her car near the former Round House restaurant on Walney.

It read: “Put your dog on a lead, slag! Your dog is naughty and your irresponsible owner (sic).”

The woman posted on Facebook: “Just letting people know that this was left on my car by the roundhouse so watch out for someone leaving notes on people's cars.

“My dog is a puppy and I pride myself on being a very responsible owner never let him off unless I know it's safe always pick mess up and just upset and very confused as to why someone would do it.”

Other pet lovers supported her, said reports in national newspapers.

One said: “What a world we live in - if this person (using that word loosely) has issues with you why not speak to you in an adult fashion and not resort to insulting language and cryptic notes.

“Ignore as best u can, but it is upsetting.”

Another said: “We met a lady up there the other day who was upset because someone had shouted at her because her puppy was off lead...it was the happiest friendliest puppy I’ve ever met....I told her to ignore them and you should just ignore this...absolute idiots.”

Another supporter replied: “Quite frankly, that note is unacceptable.

"It’s one thing to ask someone to keep their dog on a lead, which can be done politely, via a face-to-face conversation, but to call someone a ‘slag’ is completely out of order.

“Obviously they are a complete coward and unable to talk to people like normal human beings, and have to resort to leaving poorly-spelled notes on young women’s cars.

When asked if she was OK, the woman replied: “It's upset me because he has literally played with the same two dogs in the time this was left he's a big baby loves everything.”
