COWBOYS, builders, cats and princesses all turned up at the North Walney Nursery back in 1996.
The Mail, on November 25, noted: "To round off their book week, the pupils and staff turned up in fancy dress."
Book characters brought to life included the cowboy from Toy Story.
Other featured pictures include the nursery sports day held in July 1997 which saw golf balls replace the more easily broken hen's eggs in the traditional egg and spoon race.
In November 1993 North Walney was one of 42 schools and nurseries to sign up to a petition calling on the Government and Cumbria County Council to pursue nursery education for all.
The nursery at North Walney School held an open day to showcase to parents what nursery education had to offer.
Among the youngsters who had a great time at the event 26 years ago was Roxane Lucas and Lauren Armstrong.
