South Lakeland District Council agreed a new policy which would allow ex-council house tenants who had bought their homes under "right to buy" rules to sell them back if they were struggling financially.

A terraced house at Thwaite Street, Barrow, was offered for sale at £69,950.

An application to the National Lottery was planned for a £3m revamp of Grange's Edwardian promenade. South Lakeland District Council was ready to back the project with £750,000.
