JEFF Lynne and Paul McCartney are two of the biggest names in music. Jeff: songwriter, singer, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist, who co-founded the rock band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), an offshoot of the Move.

Paul, of course, needs little introduction as a former Beatle, noble knight of the realm and one of the most successful composers and performers of all time.

On Saturday, February 2, a new tribute show featuring the songs of ELO, The Beatles, solo Beatles, Tom Petty, Wilburys, the Move and the symphonic pop that the two icons have been involved with, heads for The Beggar's Theatre at Millom.

The Lynne and McCartney Story has been put together by ELO Beatles Beyond. Fronted by Jeff Lynne and Paul McCartney sound-alikes, the band's theatre show takes the audience on a journey behind some of the greatest hits of all time, and how the careers of the two songwriting giants have crossed over the years.

Following on from the Lynne and McCartney Story at the Millom theatre is the award-winning cabaret star, and the UK’s most successful juggler, Mat Ricardo, who appears on Friday, February 15 (8pm) with his new show Mat Ricardo vs The World. Described as brilliant, captivating and very funny, the one-man variety night bursts with world-class juggling, magic and illusion, escapology, sleight of hand, stand-up comedy, demonstrations of dexterity, and the only good trick that exists with a fidget spinner.

Among the other high profile acts playing the Beggar's Theatre is Lee Ridley - aka Lost Voice Guy, who rose to prominence in June after his clever, hilarious comedy routine won him Britain's Got Talent. Lee's heading off on a tour of the UK, stopping off at Millom on Saturday, April 13 (8pm), with his I’m Only In It For The Free Parking show.
