Section of M6 shut in both directions after lorry overturns
A SECTION of the M6 is shut in both directions following a crash.
It happened between J42 and J41, near Carlisle, at about 1.45pm.
Emergency services are at the scene and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
A diversion is in place via the A6.
Police said a HGV truck overturned on the southbound carriageway blocking all three lanes.
The force said the driver suffered no injuries.
