PHOTOGRAPHERS have been showing off their skills and incredible images of last night's blood moon.

The moon was partially eclipsed between 3.35am and 6.51am, with the total eclipse taking place from 4.42am until 5.44am in the early hours of this morning.

It's a supermoon, called the wolf moon, and the eclipse also caused a blood moon.

The celestial event, where the moon will line up with the Earth and the sun, was seen across the UK and other parts of the Eastern hemisphere.

The moon appeared 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter as it reached its closest point to our planet.
