A HAPPY couple wed after their shared love of the Lakes and the quiet life brought them together.

BAE Welder Andy Bridle, 37 and devoted mum Lisa Lock, 29 were happily married on August 11, 2018 among their family and friends at St Mary’s Church in Dalton.

The couple first met in April 2010 when Andy saw Lisa walking through Askam and they first started to get to know each other after he contacted her over Facebook.

When asked about the early days of their relationship and what it was that brought them together, Lisa mentioned how much they had in common.

The couple both have a fondness for driving around and exploring the Lake District, mentioning Windermere as one of their favourite places to visit.

The Mail:

Lisa also said: “He’s quiet, I’m quiet, it just felt right.”

She also mentioned how much Andy loved living in Askam and how they both enjoyed a quiet life.

Lisa said: “Where we live is perfect for us and our dog and the beach is only 20 steps away.”

Andy proposed to Lisa on her twenty-fifth birthday on August 3, 2014.

They originally went to Blackpool as Lisa was wanting a shopping trip.

Little did she know that Andy had something romantic planned. Balloons and flowers covered their hotel room and Andy went down on one knee to propose.

After their proposal they did intend on getting married earlier.

However they were renovating their house at the time, so decided to postpone any plans.

Then they had a son, who they named Harry James Bridle on June 2, 2016.

He helped to bring the couple even closer together.

The Mail:

Then on their wedding day they were joined by more than 100 of their closest friends and family for a wedding ceremony at St Mary’s Church in Dalton.

They were then joined by another 50-100 guests for an evening celebration in a marquee situated in the fields of Duddon Sports and Social Club.

Lisa mentioned how perfect everything was on the special day.

The Mail:

Lisa made a lot of the decorations and flower arrangements herself, creating a rustic, country feel.

For food, guests enjoyed fish and chips, as well as a hog roast on the evening.

After the celebrations the couple enjoyed a minimoon away at Aphrodites Boutique Hotel in Bowness.

They are also looking at having a familymoon away in Somerset during the summer.

The couple would like to thank everyone who attended the wedding.

They are also thoroughly looking forward to the rest of their lives together.
