A SOUTH Walney neighbourhood group are confident that they will obtain a piece of land dear to their hearts as results of a survey is revealed.
Representatives from the Save Our Celtic campaign group will be attending a meeting in John Woodcock's Ulverston office this afternoon when they will have talks with senior managers from United Utilities about a piece of land on Empress Drive, Walney.
A survey of the patch of land has been carried out, with a small digger on the site just before Christmas and soil samples have been taken for examination, as there was some concern that the site was contaminated.
The results of that ground survey will be made known today when everybody gets together.
The Save Our Celtic group remain optimistic of acquiring the land and are hoping that United Utilities will either donate the land to the community or sell it to them at a modest price.
