THE sound of The Moody Blues is one of the most distinctive in rock.

Their music features great vocals soaring above multilayered instrumentation and in their heyday the band produced massively successful albums such as On the Threshold of a Dream (1969), To Our Children’s Children’s Children (1969); and A Question of Balance (1970). Their sublime song Nights in White Satin has anthemic status.

Go Now - The music of The Moody Blues is the brainchild of drummer Gordy Marshall. Gordy toured with The Moody Blues for 25 years as a session musician. And along with Mick Wilson, lead singer of 10cc, the two musicians have brought together some of the very best singers and instrumentalists in the country to create the ultimate tribute to the one of the greatest classic rock bands.

They bring their show to Keswick's Theatre By The Lake on Sunday, February 24.

For six of the years that Gordy toured the world with The Moody Blues, the prince of percussion also provided the beat for Justin Hayward on the arena tours of Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds.

His extensive CV as a session musician includes working with well known names such as Sir Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Gary Barlow, Mike Batt, Katie Melua, Chris Spedding, Herbie Flowers, Russell Watson and Jason Donovan.

And in 2012 Splendid Books published Gordy’s first travel book Postcards from a Rock & Roll Tour. In addition to his pop and rock work, Gordy has been involved in many West End musicals, including We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia and Thriller Live!

Since joining Graham Gouldman for an acoustic set at the Green Room in London’s Café Royal more than a decade ago, Mick has become a regular in the latest incarnation of 10cc, taking on lead vocal duties and playing percussion, guitar and keyboards. Mick and Graham have also performed acoustic sets at numerous charity events, including the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Gordy and Mick's Go Now show features Moody hit such as Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Go Now and Isn't Life Strange all beautifully recreated live. Forever Autumn and a show-stealing rendition of Eve of the War from Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds also feature in the band's set.

Joining Gordy and Mick on stage are Tim Maple (Leona Lewis guitarist and X-factor Live MD) Malcolm Moore (Robbie Williams - James Blunt) Patrick Duffin (Jersey Boys – Natalie Imbuglia).
