Firefighters free person from under car in early morning crash
FIREFIGHTERS freed a man whose foot was trapped under his van early this morning.
A van rolled over the foot of the 31-year-old man from Barrow at around 3.30am near to Newby Bridge.
Crews from stations at Kendal, Ulverston and Grange-over-Sands responded to the incident on Canny Hill at around 3.30am.
They used hydraulic lifting equipment and remained on scene for approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
He was released and checked over by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Furness General Hospital.
