TEMPERATURES dropping towards freezing don't encourage South Cumbrians to leave the warmth of home but walkers can be rewarded by some spectacular views.
These images were captured by Bill Myers, of Millom, at the former iron mining site at Hodbarrow, between Millom and Haverigg, on Wednesday afternoon.
The sun was setting at 4.10pm and brought an orange glow to the mass of wind turbines off the Walney coast.
There was a new moon on Wednesday and the temperature dropped to 0C by 6pm.
