LUCKY pupils from North Walney Primary School got to play a part in making their own Indian lunch at the Monihar restaurant, in Dalton Road, Barrow.
The Mail, on February 2 in 1995, noted: "A visit to the restaurant arranged as part of a project for year two pupils about different foods around the world.
"Children tucked into some Indian dishes, saw how the food is prepared in the kitchen and even had a go at making snacks themselves."
Form teacher Hazel Dole said the visit was designed to broaden the children's outlook on foreign cultures.
She noted that the children were convinced at first that they wouldn't like spicy food.
She said: "The owner, Mr Ahmed, was so kind and generous and the children came away with a very nice impression."
