DRAMATIC pictures show the moment mountain rescuers were called out to save a sheep which had become stuck on a crag.
Eleven volunteer members from Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue team were enlisted to help by a farmer after his animal was cragfast in Wallowbarrow at Seathwaite.
One member was lowered down to the sheep with an animal rescue bag but the stubborn sheep refused to go inside.
Instead, he managed to fit a strop around the sheep before both were brought back to the top of the crag.
The animal was said to not require any first aid and wandered off after eating a handful of sheep food, following the incident on Friday.
