MORE officers can be seen on the beat thanks to a new police operation codenamed Sawfish.
AS part of the new operation police were able to assist a vulnerable man home yesterday as well as attending various community activities and programmes.
Operation Sawfish was launched after residents raised concerns they did not see enough of a police presence in Barrow.
Operation Sawfish focuses on high-visibility neighbourhood policing within Barrow.
Out at one of these operations yesterday police were able to locate and assist a vulnerable man home.
The team also carried out hi-vis foot patrols in Barrow Town Centre, Hindpool, Ormsgill, Barrow Island, Newbarns and Risedale.
They also attended keeping safe sessions, a Christmas Fayre and a multi-agency Street Safe programme.
