WINDERMERE Ferry is back up and running after a problem stopped its usual service today.
As of 3:24pm residents were made aware that the ferry was no longer operating via the groups twitter feed.
A spokesperson from Windermere Ferry said: "We're working to fix the problem and hope to be running again this evening. Our apologises for any inconvenience."
Unfortunately the ferry will be out of service until further notice. We're working to fix the problem and hope to be running again this evening. Our apologises for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately we are currently still unable to operate. Our engineer is on the way and we will let you know when the problem is fixed and we are running again. Thank you for your patience.

Following this, an engineer was sent to the ferry, but there was still no confirmation of when the ferry might be up and running again.
Fortunately, as of 7:05pm the Ferry was back working and will continue its service until 9pm this evening.
We are back up and running again now, we're running until 9pm tonight. Thank you for your patience.
