SCHOOL pupils have been hard at work designing cards for Furness MP’s annual competition.

Pupils from Ormsgill Nursery and Primary School have been getting creative this week, designing, drawing and colouring their own christmas cards for Barrow and Furness MP John Woodcock.

The cards will be entered in to the annual Christmas Card competition, in which children from across the constituency submit Christmas Card designs to be featured on the e-cards Mr Woodcock will be sending out this year.

The children at Ormsgill Nursery can be seen working hard on their designs in the hope their cards will be picked.

Mick Cull, headteacher at Ormsgill Nursery and Primary, said: “The children have had a fantastic time working on the Christmas Card competition for John Woodcock.

“We love being creative in school, especially at Christmas time.

“All the children were very excited that their design could be chosen by our local MP for his annual card and so they all did their very best. “

It was a lovely opportunity for them to think about what Christmas means to them.”

John Woodcock, MP for Barrow and Furness said:

“I was delighted to see the pupils of Ormsgill Primary School working hard on their entries for my annual Christmas card competition.

“I have already received entries from primary schools across the constituency and, as usual, I’m really looking forward to judging the stunning designs.

“It’s always great to go through the children’s excellent artwork, and the competition has always been a fantastic way to get myself into the festive spirit.

“It’s a very busy time of year for teachers and support staff, but I really do appreciate the time taken to co-ordinate this.”

Four Children from Ormsgill Primary wrote short pieces for The Mail after designing their cards for Barrow and Furness MP John Woodcock.

Dylan Taylor:

“I really enjoyed drawing this and adding the colours.

“For Christmas this year I’m most looking forward to the tree, Santa and presents that represent having fun at Christmas.”

Teal Richardson:

“I am looking forward to Christmas with family and friends.”

“My design is a Christmas tree because it’s my favourite thing about Christmas.

Kayden Parsons:

“My card has the B and arrow for Barrow and the B has a beautiful Santa hat and the wonderful arrow and town hall, I think everything on my picture is beautiful and wonderful.

“I liked making the card, I liked doing it so much I wish I could do it everyday.

“I am happy because it might be a real card and then people will see it. I am really excited for Christmas, so I can have a roast chicken and it's my baby sisters first Christmas then my mum will let me and my baby sister go out in the snow and make a snow man.
