VOLUNTEERS have saved the day for a town’s carnival after lending their support at the last minute.

Next year’s Dalton Carnival will see a return for its famous parade after volunteers stepped in to help out the organising committee following a plea for support.

A TOWN’S carnival parade is to return after a volunteers lent their support to the organising committee at the last minute.

It would be the first time since 2016 the parade has run.

In 2017 the carnival was rained off with organisers left out of pocket for this year’s event and unable to stage the procession this time around.

The mayor of Dalton, Councillor Sam Ronson,

“I’m very happy to hear that they committee has gained some new members.

“I think it’s important for people to get involved in the community through groups like this because what they can deliver as a group is always well received and enjoyed by the town.

“I hope this will mean that the parade can now be restarted for years to come.”
