THE Barrow and Furness MP is due to meet residents today to discuss their views on Brexit.

John Woodcock will listen to the opinions of people in Barrow on the subject at an event held at the Tesco cafe in Hindpool Road.

He will be there from 4pm until 6pm.

The meeting comes as the MP is set to vote on the Government's widely-criticised European Union withdrawal deal in Parliament on Tuesday (December 11).

Mr Woodcock, an independent who resigned from the Labour Party in July, voted to remain in the EU when in the 2016 referendum.

He previously told The Mail he thought the Brexit that was promised in the lead-up to the referendum was very different to the reality and people were "disappointed" at promises made by campaigners.

He said wanted the best deal "to protect jobs and living standards".
