A RENOWNED British chef with two Michelin starred restaurants in the South Lakes is set to expand his restaurant group outside the UK.

Simon Rogan, owner of L’Enclume and Rogan & Co, both based in Cartmel, is planning to open a two Lake District inspired restaurants in Hong Kong.

Aulis Hong Kong will be his his first overseas establishment and will be an experimental hub where guests are seated directly opposite the chef and can watch him work as he prepared an eight to ten course experimental menu.

The dishes served will not have been introduced in any of Mr Rogan’s restaurants, so guests will be given the first try of dishes before they arrive onto the menus.

Opening in early January 2019, the 12-seater Aulis Hong Kong is Mr Rogan's third restaurant of this style. Following the successful launch of Aulis Cartmel, within L’Enclume, in 2016, and Aulis London which opened in 2017 as a standalone development kitchen for Mr Rogan’s London-based team of chefs at Roganic.

In late February 2019, Mr Rogan is set to open a second restaurant in Hong Kong.

Roganic Hong Kong will bring the tastes of the Lake District to the Chinese region.
